Don't get me wrong, I grew up on UNIX, practically. But why bother
with it in this case? I spend too much time in Terminal.app, anyway. :)

Okay, I didn't mean that the binary package should replace the source
distribution, but rather supplement it. It would probably be best to
ship the two packages independently of each other. That way, people
like me who trust Don :) and just want the entire binary distribution
could grab one package, while people who need the source can get the
source package.
(BTW, I should remind you that you can choose which architecture(s) you
want to install for when installing the package.)
And as Don mentioned, the MiscKit has grown to the point where 1) it takes
quite a while to compile from scratch, and 2) it uses up lotsa disk space
(something like 50MB!) during the compile process.
But the biggest advantage to shipping a binary-only package-version in
addition to the current source release is that it doesn't affect anyone
in a bad way--except maybe Don, who has the burden of creating the
package. (I'll send you money for a six-pack if you send me your
postal address, Don!)
Regards,
